Characteristics
Dibase ester is a chemical mixture of dimethyl esters. It is a colorless, clear liquid with a mild, pleasant odor. DBE is a diverse and ecologically compatible alternative to many other solvents that require labeling. The product has a number of advantages such as high solubility and a low risk potential for humans and the environment. It also has a high flash point and very low volatility. DBE is easily soluble in alcohols, ketones, ethers and most hydrocarbons, whereas it is slightly soluble in substances such as water or higher paraffinic hydrocarbons. According to the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances and the transport regulations, DBE does not require labeling!
Use
Dibasicester is a very interesting product due to its wide range of applications. It is used as a solvent in paints and varnishes, cleaners and mold hardeners. DBE can also be used as an intermediate product for PU foams and plasticizers. When it comes to environmental protection, in particular, DBE is an indispensable alternative to traditional solvents such as methylene chloride and acetone, which means that the area of application is constantly growing.
