On October 12th, 2020, Möller Chemie celebrates its 100th anniversary and focus on healthy growth with good future strategies, with the aim to continue to be an important partner for customers and suppliers and an attractive employer for our staff members.

Partnership with Maysta
The partnership with Maysta will open up completely new markets for Möller Chemie from 2019. The additives are essential products in the PU foam industry. Since then, Möller Chemie has also been producing its own products in order to expand the product portfolio for the sector and to be able to offer customers a complete package.

Exlusive representation for Uniqchem
Since 2019, Möller Chemie has had a close partnership with Uniqchem, a company founded in 2010. The exclusive representation makes it possible to offer a larger product portfolio to customers from the coatings industry as well as from the ink and plastics sector. With a strong technical team, customer-oriented solutions can be offered on site.

Exclusive agency for Chevon Phillips
2019 is an important year for Möller Chemie, because in this year the official collaboration between Chevron Phillips and Möller Chemie begins in the distribution of alpha olefins. This product group enables access to new markets of manufacturers of lubricants, automotive additives and surfactants as well as other special additives.

Joint-Venture JBC Solutions B.V.
A milestone is reached in 2015 - together with a Dutch partner - JBC Solutions B.V. in Haaksbergen is established. With 20 employees, a floor space of 5000 square metres and various mixing and filling systems for small containers from 10 ml a wide range of services are offered. The product range is significantly expanded by this development and the customers have the possibility to obtain more products from one single source.

Acquisition for capacity expansion
At the end of 2014, a 3-hectare area in the industrial area in Münster is acquired to expand capacities and improve logistics processes. This is an important step for the further development of Möller Chemie.

Commissioning of the new hazardous materials warehouse
A new hazardous materials warehouse is being built at the Steinfurt site. There will be 13 tank facilities as well as filling and transfer facilities for containers and tanker loading. In addition, approximately 1,000 new pallet spaces will be created. This will significantly boost the isoparaffin business.

ISO 9001-Certification
The international certification according ISO 9001 is achieved and Möller Chemie receives the confirmation that the requirements for an effective quality management are fulfilled.

New storage space
For further growth, Möller Chemie acquires a warehouse on an 8,000 m2 plot not far from the Steinfurt site. This storage capacity is very important for the further development of the company.

Establishment of new mixing capacities
Möller Chemie now offers a very wide range of isoparaffins, so that other industries and areas of application can be covered. New mixing capacities will be created for the production of the formulations in order to enable prompt delivery to customers.

Procurement from Asia
The epoxy sector takes a very positive course, so that in 1997 the first isotank containers of benzyl alcohol are purchased from Asia. In the following years, other products are added. This development brings more flexibility and scope and leads to a remarkable growth in turnover.

Möller Chemie becomes a pentist
In 1996, Möller Chemie succeeds in becoming a shareholder in Penta Chemikalien in Aschaffenburg, an association of medium-sized chemical dealers, which ensures both an improvement in the supply situation and competitiveness for standard products.

Penta no longer exists since 2020. But direct contact could still be established so that continued supply is guaranteed.

Expansion Sovlents
Sales of solvents have developed so positively in recent years that in 1992 an adjacent plot of land is acquired on which a tank and transhipment warehouse for solvents is built, which goes into operation in 1994.
A modern laboratory is set up in parallel to meet the quality requirements of customers in the coatings sector. From now on, all solvents are subjected to a comprehensive chemical incoming goods inspection.

Managing Director Rainer Berghaus
This is how we are going to manage Möller Chemie: Rainer Berghaus, 3rd generation, who has been working with Möller Chemie since 1985, joins the management team on March 1st, 1991.

Real division of society
At the beginning of the 1960s, the second generation decides to divide the company. The Stockmeier family takes over the main business in Bielefeld and the Möller family the branch in Burgsteinfurt. This was the foundation of Möller KG.

In the following years, the Burgsteinfurt location is further expanded. Cooperation with producers is intensified in order to gain access to important products. Underground tank farms provide for capacity expansions, which bring with them a tidy growth.

Acqisition of property in Burgsteinfurt
After the industry in Germany developed rapidly in the boom years after the Second World War, Stockmeier & Möller founded a company in Burgsteinfurt in the mid-1950s. The aim was to be able to supply the textile industry customers in the Münsterland region, who were also growing rapidly, more quickly. As early as 1957, a plot of land is acquired in order to build a filling and storage facility of their own.

Acquisition property in Biefeld
From the beginning, the business is successful, so that in 1928 the property on Eckendorfer Straße in Bielefeld is acquired. The business premises are moved there. Today, this location is still the headquarters of the Stockmeier Chemie group of companies.

In 1921, Heinrich Möller appears in public as a partner and the company is renamed Stockmeier und Möller offene Handelsgesellschaft accordingly.

Foundation August Stockmeier Großhandelsgeschäft
On October 12th, 1920 August Stockmeier co-founded the “August Stockmeier wholesale business” in Bielefeld with Heinrich Möller as a silent partner. The first premises in Bielefeld are rented.
