105 years of experience

Tradition with a forward-looking vision.

Over 100 years of experience in chemical distribution have shaped the way we work, think, and make decisions. This experience forms the foundation for everything we do today and plan for tomorrow. It gives us confidence in what we do and keeps us open to what lies ahead. What remains unchanged is what defines us: quality, reliability, and a personal connection to our partners both at home and abroad.

Our History

It all starts with an idea. And so does the story of Möller Chemie. Our origins go back a long way and reflect a deep passion for chemistry.

2026

With our certification under DIN ISO 14001, we are setting another milestone in our sustainability management and underscoring our commitment to the environment and the future.
2020

A Century of Möller Chemie

In October 2020, we will celebrate 100 years of company history. With a clear vision for the future, we remain committed to sustainable growth, continue to be a reliable partner for our customers and suppliers, and provide our employees with an attractive work environment.
2019

Strategic Partnership with Maysta

Our partnership with Maysta opens up entirely new markets for us: we are entering the polyurethane foam industry, where additives play a key role. By developing and manufacturing our own products, we are expanding our product portfolio and offering our customers a complete solution.
2019

Exclusive distributor for Uniqchem

We are establishing a close partnership with Uniqchem, a company founded in 2010. This exclusive representation gives us access to a significantly expanded product portfolio for our customers in the coatings industry as well as in the ink and plastics sectors. Most importantly, our highly skilled technical team can develop and implement customized solutions directly on-site at the customer’s location.
2019

Exclusive Representative for Chevron Phillips

A milestone: We are launching an official partnership with Chevron Phillips for the distribution of alpha-olefins. This product group opens up entirely new business opportunities for us in the fields of lubricants, automotive additives, and surfactants. In addition, we can now offer our customers additional specialty additives from a single source.
2015

Joint Venture JBC Solutions B.V.

Together with a Dutch partner, we are establishing JBC Solutions B.V. in Haaksbergen. With 20 employees, 5,000 m² of warehouse space, and state-of-the-art mixing and filling equipment for small containers starting at 10 ml, we are able to offer our customers even more comprehensive services under one roof. This significantly expands our product range. Operations were discontinued in 2024.
2014

New property in Münster

We are acquiring a three-hectare site in the Münster industrial park. This expanded capacity and optimized logistics processes will create room for further growth in the future.
2004

Commissioning of the new hazardous materials storage facility

At our Steinfurt site, we are constructing a new hazardous materials storage facility featuring 13 tank systems, filling and transfer stations for containers and tanker trucks, and approximately 1,000 new pallet storage spaces. With this expanded capacity, we will be able to significantly grow our isoparaffin business and supply our customers even more reliably.
2003

DIN ISO 9001 Certification

We have received international ISO 9001 certification. This certification confirms that our quality management system meets all requirements and complies with international standards.
2001

New warehouse space for further growth

Not far from our location in Steinfurt, we are purchasing a warehouse on an 8,000-square-meter lot. This additional storage capacity is essential for our company’s continued growth.
2000

Expansion of new mixing capacity

Our range of isoparaffins is expanding significantly and reaching an ever-wider range of industries and applications. To produce the various formulations and deliver them quickly to our customers, we are expanding our blending capacity. Flexibility and short lead times are becoming our hallmark.
1997

Sourcing from Asia

The epoxy sector is performing well. In response, we are sourcing our first Isotank containers of benzyl alcohol from Asia. In the years that follow, we will continue to expand our product range. This strategic decision gives us greater flexibility and more room to maneuver, and leads to remarkable revenue growth.
1996

Möller Chemie becomes Pentist

We are becoming shareholders in Penta Chemikalien in Aschaffenburg—a consortium of medium-sized chemical distributors. Together, we are improving our supply situation and strengthening our competitiveness in standard products. Penta will be dissolved in 2020. The transition to direct contacts with major European chemical manufacturers is proceeding smoothly, and our supply of goods remains secure.
1994

Expansion of the Solvents Business

Sales of our solvents grew so rapidly that we purchased an adjacent property in 1992. There, we built a storage and transshipment facility for solvents. At the same time, we set up a modern laboratory to meet the high quality standards of our customers in the coatings industry. From that point on, we subjected all solvents to a comprehensive chemical inspection upon receipt.
1991

Rainer Berghaus will become managing director

Rainer Berghaus, who has been with us since 1985, will join the management team effective March 1. The course has been set for the future and the third generation.
1957

Paul-Gerhard Möller will become managing director

Paul-Gerhard Möller will become a co-owner of the company and assume a leadership role.
1957

Purchase of Land in Burgsteinfurt

German industry boomed in the years following World War II. Stockmeier & Möller responded to this trend by establishing a facility in Burgsteinfurt in the mid-1950s. The goal was to be able to supply the rapidly growing customer base in the textile industry in the Münsterland region more quickly and directly. As early as 1957, we purchased a plot of land to build our own filling and storage facility there.
1928

Purchase of Land in Bielefeld

The business was successful from the very beginning, leading to the purchase of a property on Eckendorfer Straße in Bielefeld. The business premises were relocated there. This location remains the headquarters of the Stockmeier Chemie Group to this day.
1921

Heinrich Möller - Stockmeier & Möller, General Partnership

In 1921, Heinrich Möller officially joined the firm as a partner, and the company was renamed Stockmeier and Möller General Partnership.

Clear areas of responsibility, short decision-making processes, and personal accountability characterize the company’s management. Decisions are made with an eye toward the company’s long-term development, without losing sight of the values that have guided Möller Chemie for generations.

Chemical Services

In addition to a reliable supply of raw materials, we also provide our customers with our chemical expertise. We assist with the selection of suitable raw materials, support formulation adjustments, and help with the transition to more sustainable or cost-effective solutions.

To do this, we draw on our in-house product development, our laboratory, and our experienced logistics team—for example, in dispersing, homogenizing, filling, packaging, quality assurance, as well as storage and distribution.

Think sustainably, act reliably

As a chemical distributor, we bear a special responsibility toward the environment, our employees, our customers, and society. With our sustainability strategy for the years 2026 to 2030, we are establishing a framework to systematically fulfill this responsibility.

Our goal is to firmly embed sustainability in our daily business practices. To this end, we are developing concrete measures step by step, defining measurable goals, and regularly reviewing the relevant key performance indicators. In this way, we achieve a lasting balance between environmental protection, social responsibility, and economic foresight.

About our sustainability strategy

Social Engagement

For us, responsibility doesn’t end at the factory gate. As part of the region and as an employer in the Münsterland area, we consider it a matter of course to contribute beyond our own company. We are committed to local social projects and initiatives, support clubs and organizations in our neighborhood, and promote projects that strengthen community spirit in the region. After all, our employees, their families, and our neighbors all live where we work.

Our Commitment

Team & Careers

Think proactively. Take responsibility. Pitch in when needed. We’re a team that sticks together and gets better together. And we’re always looking for people who want to help us drive the chemical trade forward.
